The route then climbs into the Poás highlands to visit the volcano and its impressive crater, with tastings of artisan wines, fresh strawberries and local cheeses, before winding through Río Cuarto to La Fortuna de San Carlos.
At the foot of the Arenal Volcano, walk the famous Místico hanging bridges, then give yourself a full day to unwind in La Fortuna's natural thermal waters. From there the trip crosses to the Central Pacific: a visit to Playa Blanca, a full day of beach and activities at the Punta Leona complex, a sunset catamaran cruise, and evenings in Jacó, the lively beach town known for its restaurants, bars and nightlife in a safe, visitor-friendly atmosphere.
